A carded wool cloth recycled and woven in Prato, reflecting the Italian artisan tradition. The wool, which comes from industrial pre-consumer fabric waste, is carefully selected for color and composition, then returned to its fiber state through carding. This process, an integral part of sustainable wool production, eliminates the need for re-dyeing, significantly reducing water and chemical consumption. To the new recycled wool yarn that will be woven, we add recycled polyamide to strengthen the wool fibers, stressed by the recycling process. It is the only material we use containing a percentage of non-biodegradable material.
To find out more about the history of carded wool in Italy and the positive impact of sustainable production on the local community and the environment, we recommend consulting dedicated pages such as "The history of carded wool in Prato" or case studies on "The environmental impact of sustainable wool production".
