A yarn produced in Italy, in the renowned textile district of Como, represents an excellent example of recycled silk. Its origin is pre-consumer, resulting from the recycling of virgin Mulberry silk processing waste. In addition to giving a second life to industrial waste, avoiding waste, this yarn can be defined as cruelty-free as no silkworms were sacrificed to produce it, reflecting the benefits of renewable silk and sustainable silk fashion. To further reduce the environmental impact of its production, we purchased it in its raw color to avoid it being subjected to dyeing processes. After the success of our first silk garments, we experimented with a plant-based coloring technique, which allowed us to obtain unique pieces with natural and biodegradable dyes.
