The cotton yarn we use for our beach towels and shawls is composed of a variable percentage between 45 and 60% of regenerated cotton and the remaining part of sustainable virgin cotton. Regenerated cotton, produced from industrial (pre-consumer) textile waste, is frayed and transformed back into thread. Coloring generally occurs through a selection of waste by color, allowing for significant water savings; to obtain particular colors, a subsequent dyeing phase is used. The cotton fiber alone would not be strong enough to constitute a yarn, so it is necessary to strengthen it with a virgin fiber, selected according to ethical cotton production criteria.
