We associated the concept of travel with Rifò blankets because it immediately seemed like the perfect accessory for traveling while feeling at home. In the carriage of a train, on a plane or stored in your backpack, the Rifò blanket is the kind of comfort that goes with you everywhere.
The Eli blanket has a specular geometric pattern made of concentric rectangles. Rich and sophisticated to decorate a sofa or as a bedspread.
How it was made
Rifò's recycled cotton fleece blanket is made with a jacquard loom and therefore has a double face. To obtain the warm plush texture, the blanket is washed and then brushed, using special machines equipped with thousands of tiny pins that pull out the pile of the yarn to make it softer and softer. The raising gives the fabric softness and, by increasing the amount of air retained, improves the thermal insulation properties of the fabric. At the bottom of the blanket we thought of adding 10 cm of peneri, made with the black yarn that makes up the warp of the weft.
By using at least 80% recycled cotton for our products, we avoid the production of virgin cotton, one of the most polluting on the planet.
The least polluting cotton is the one already produced: in addition to not requiring pesticides and chemicals, the cotton regeneration process is a mechanical process, so it does not require the use of water.
Who made it
The blankets and stoles in recycled cotton are made from the looms of Enrico, who has been weaving and making scarves and knitwear in Prato for a lifetime!
