Frequently asked questions
Is cotton a good fabric for shirts?
Yes, recycled cotton is one of the most commonly used fabrics for shirts: it’s natural, breathable, moisture-absorbing, and feels fresh on the skin even in warm weather.
How can I keep a cotton shirt from wrinkling?
Besides laying it out properly right after washing, you can iron it while it’s still slightly damp. Another trick is to store it hanging instead of folded, to reduce creases.
Can a cotton shirt be used as a lightweight jacket?
Some more structured styles, like overshirts or bowling shirts, can be worn open over a t-shirt – making them perfect transition pieces.
Does a cotton shirt retain odors?
Much less than synthetic fabrics. Cotton is breathable and allows sweat to evaporate, reducing the build-up of unpleasant odors.
How often should you wash a cotton shirt?
It depends on usage. If worn directly on the skin, after 1–2 wears. If layered over another piece, every 3–4 wears. Sometimes, with natural fabrics, simply airing it out is enough to remove odors.
