Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between denim and jeans?
Denim is a durable, diagonally woven fabric, while jeans are the garment made from it. So all jeans are made of denim, but not all denim becomes jeans.
Is recycled denim as durable as traditional denim?
Yes, recycled denim is designed to be just as durable. The difference is that it comes from recycled cotton fibers, reducing environmental impact without compromising quality.
Are recycled denim jeans stretchy?
No, Rifò jeans are made of 100% recycled cotton denim and contain no elastane. This makes them fully recyclable and more sustainable, while still offering a good fit.
Where did denim originally come from?
Denim originated in the 17th century in Nîmes, France, as a durable fabric for workwear. Over time, it spread around the world, becoming a symbol of practicality and style. Today, it’s used not only for its strength but also for its timeless appeal.
Do jeans stretch with wear?
100% cotton denim tends to soften and slightly mold to the body with wear but returns to shape after washing. Since it contains no elastane, it maintains a stable fit over time.
