Frequently asked questions
Are cotton sweaters cool to wear?
Cotton is a natural, breathable fiber, ideal for spring and summer. Rifò’s recycled cotton sweaters are perfect for warm days, but also great for layering throughout the year.
Is the cotton sweater also suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, recycled cotton is one of the most gentle fibers on the skin, ideal even for those prone to irritation. Our sweaters contain no harsh chemical treatments and are suitable for everyday use.
Does cotton shrink when washed?
It can happen if washed at high temperatures or tumble-dried. To avoid shrinking, it’s best to wash it at low temperatures (max 30°C) and let it air dry.
Is cotton better than synthetic materials?
Cotton is often the better choice, especially for everyday use and direct contact with the skin. It’s a natural, breathable, hypoallergenic, and biodegradable fiber — unlike synthetic materials derived from petroleum, which trap odors and don’t let the skin breathe.
Is cotton sustainable?
It depends on how it's produced. Conventionally grown cotton requires lots of water, pesticides, and land. However, recycled or organic cotton is a more sustainable choice because it reduces resource use and waste.
