Raw Linen Placemat
Ricircolo Project: new life to the deadstock
Visiting our suppliers on a daily basis, we realized the amount of leftover material in their warehouses, unsold and unused, which risked being thrown away.
So we thought of valorizing the stock of fabrics for which manufacturers cannot find a destination, by transforming it into new products with a limited edition.
How it was made
The Ricircolo project also involves non-recycled materials, yet continuing to favor pure compositions and valuable materials with intrinsic value, such as linen.
These tableware products are made of 100 percent linen dyed in traditional colors, which are treated with a water purification system that various dyehouses in the Prato textile district adhere to.
The pure composition of this fabric ensures that it can be further recycled at the end of its life.
Who made it
The accessories of the Rifò home line are made by Sandra in her family workshop, in the province of Pistoia. Here, together with her children and husband, a home linens tradition that has been handed down for decades is carried on.
Social impact
For every purchase on our online shop, we will donate 2€ to the social impact project ** Nei nostri panni, cenciaiolis to be, which aims to create a school for cenciaioli, the artisans of textile recycling. Every donation will support the training of young people coming from the local immigrant reception centres.
