When Treedom contacted us a few months ago to ask us to create their first physical product together, a responsible t-shirt that could convey a message for the environment, we immediately felt a shared energy and a drive that made this collaboration meaningful.

 

Treedom is a community, Italian and increasingly international, that plants and grows trees around the world. With the HOME T-shirt, circular economy and respect for nature come together.

What unites Treedom and Rifò

In addition to the desire to be a force for change and to create alternative and sustainable economic models for the planet, there are many other aspects that we share with Treedom.

Like Rifò, Treedom was also born in Tuscany as a startup and is growing steadily thanks to a strong community that believes in change.

Treedom also stems from a concrete experience: just as Rifò was born from the realization of the problems related to the overproduction of fast fashion, Treedom was created to combat the devastating consequences of deforestation in Africa. In 2010, founders Federico and Tommaso saw the problem with their own eyes and decided to create a virtual platform to do something concrete: plant trees anywhere in the world with just one click.

Design and production

To celebrate the concrete commitments we share and carry forward every day, "" was born, a unisex t-shirt that conveys a message about the importance of trees in our ecosystem and promotes sustainable fashion practices. 

The design of the t-shirt was created by Treedom and chosen by its community, while the fabric is the classic and light fabric of Rifò t-shirts: half organic cotton and half recycled cotton from industrial waste that would otherwise be discarded.

Each garment is produced in Italy, ensuring an ethical and sustainable supply chain. The use of recycled and recyclable materials not only reduces environmental impact but also promotes a more responsible product lifecycle.

A Tree planted for Every T-shirt

By purchasing a "HOME a Treedom-shirt," you can contribute to a concrete project: the planting of a cotton tree in Ghana.

The cotton tree is planted to reforest, feed livestock, and shade areas intended for the cultivation of low-growing plants. It is a tree that reaches 70 meters in height and has a massive trunk that can reach 3 meters in diameter, covered with large, sturdy spines.

This collaboration takes on even greater significance because of the chosen location for the planting of the Treedom tree, as Ghana is one of the African countries that hosts open-air landfills where end up lots of clothes from fast fashion, which we discard or no longer want.

As with every Treedom project, each tree is geolocated and photographed, making it possible to follow its growth and environmental impact through the MyTreedom platform.

Treedom's goal is not only to reforest degraded areas but also to transfer skills to local communities to ensure the longevity of trees and the economic benefits that derive from them.

Transparency and Traceability

Just as Treedom geolocates every tree planted, allowing supporters to follow the project, Rifò guarantees a transparent and local supply chain, valuing circular economy and ethical production.
