DETAILS

The Cara button-less, slouchy, recycled cotton cardigan for women  features soft puffy sleeves with 11 cm high ribbed cuffs. It is made with sustainable yarns obtained from the recycling of different shades of previously used jeans saved from landfills.

  • Weight: 450 g
  • Half cardigan stitch
  • Hip-lenght
  • Ribbed neckline, bottom, and cuffs, reinforced with a little portion of Lycra to keep the shape at its best

MATERIAL

COMPOSITION: 75% recycled cotton, 20% natural cotton and 5% other fibers. What are other fibers? The yarns from hems and other trimmings in old recycled garments that cannot be traced.

This garment is available in different shades of denim blue: each batch is unique and varies depending on the starting recycled garments. For this reason, there may be some lighter and darker traces of “other fibers” in the yarns, which give a slight mélange effect to the piece.

WASHING CARE: The denim yarns of our knitted garments behave similarly to that of classic trousers. After a few wears, you can bring it back to the original form by washing it at 30°. If you decide to wash it by hand, first make a light centrifuge to drain the water, then dry it naturally by lying it on a horizontal board: this yarn is very subject to stretching due to the weight of water.

FIT

COMFORTABLE: This garment has a slightly loose fit, which does not hug the body. According to your preferences, consider choosing the size that corresponds to your measurements or sizing down. See the size chart for further information.

    RECYCLED AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS

This garment is made with recycled yarns from old jeans, carefully selected and sorted by colour, in a process that entirely takes place in our textile district, in Prato. This is made possible by donations of old jeans from our community through our used garments take-back service which is a true example of a bottom-up circular economy.

As a result of this process, there is no need to re-dye the yarn, which helps avoid a large water consumption and reduces the use of dyes and polluting chemicals.

    MADE IN ITALY

This garment is meticulously handcrafted in the knitting factory Nonsololana, located just 4 km from our office.

In 2022, we initiated a supply chain sustainability monitoring project focusing on social sustainability aspects with the help of the auditing company Bureau Veritas. Nonsololana s.r.l was among the first audited and was found to be compliant in all 14 areas audited.

By 2025, we aim to subject all our clothing suppliers to this verification.

    NEI NOSTRI PANNI PROJECT

For every purchase made on our online shop, we donate €2 to the social impact project Nei Nostri Panni. This project aims to safeguard the artisanal skills of textile recycling in Prato, which are at risk of being lost without a new generation taking up these crafts. The donation will contribute to funding paid training for migrants coming from local reception centers. This initiative combines social integration with the preservation of traditional craftsmanship.
